How to opt out of Reddit redesign and use the old interface

Reddit is one of the Internet’s biggest discussion boards where you can post, discuss, and discover content related to your favorite topics. All you need to do is discover the right subreddit and you’re all set to go. The site had been rocking a clean but old look for a while, and it seems that, as time changes, so do looks. What used to be a feature that was in beta is now a forced face lift, and it’s safe to say that there are a number of users who do not like the new Reddit design. Fortunately, users can get the old look back with the simple click of a button.

Keep in mind that at the time of publishing this guide, there is no way to know if Reddit plans on removing the old look completely, so you might as well enjoy it while it lasts.

How to switch to the old reddit design

If you are already on the new design, navigate to the top-right of your screen where your username should be. Click on the drop-down arrow to the right of your name and click on Opt Out of Redesign in the menu.

If the above method doesn’t work for you, you can navigate to settings. Here you will find a toggle at the bottom of the page, right above the save button. Click the toggle that reads Opt out of the redesign.

Switch to new Reddit design

If you wish to revert back to the new design, you simply need to navigate to your preferences. The link only works if you are on old reddit.

How to Use New Reddit from Old Reddit

All you have to do is navigate to the bottom of preferences and tick the box next to Use the redesign as my default experience and click on save options. The change will occur the moment you press the button to confirm your choice.

Keep in mind that reddit could remove the old reddit theme at any time, so enjoy the old design while it lasts.
