Slack’s new app for Mac is 33% faster & consumes 50% less memory

Slack has released a new update to their desktop app for Mac and Windows which brings about major performance improvements. The app should load up to 33% faster, connect to calls 10 times faster and consume 50% less memory than before. It will also provide a better offline experience by caching recently viewed conversations and channels and making them readable when network connectivity is interrupted.

Here are the 230 new Emojis coming to iOS and Android in 2019

Unicode Consortium has approved 2019’s final list of Emojis with 230 new characters. Deaf person, ringed planet, blood drop, people holding hands and more are the new emojis that users will get to compose expressive text messages with. In addition, new birds, animals, worship places, food, clothing, updates to older emojis with new colors and more have made their way in the updated Emoji 12.0 specs. …

Skype releases background blur for video calls

In its latest update, Skype has released a new background blur feature for video calls on desktop. Users on Skype (version 8) on Windows, Mac and Linux and Skype (version 14) on Windows 10  can enable background blur when on a video call with friends, family, boss, clients or potential business partners. The feature works just like the background blur feature in Microsoft Teams.
