watchOS 5.0.1 is now available for Apple Watch Series 1 and above, with a fix for Activity Rings, charging The update is available just over a week after watchOS 5 was released to the public with a number of major new updates like an improved Siri watch face, support for Siri Shortcuts, Walkie-Talkie, Podcasts app, grouped notifications, Activity competitions, automatic Workout detections and more.
What’s new in watchOS 5.0.1?
Users who had updated to watchOS 5 had been reporting inconstancies with activity tracking features. Standing minutes were not being tracked during afternoon, while exercise tracking was excessive. This minor update aims to fix all these issues.

- Fixes an issue that caused a small number of users to see an increase in exercise minutes
- Addresses an issue that caused some users to not receive Stand credit in the afternoon
- Fixes an issue that could prevent Apple Watch from charging
To update to watchOS 5.0.1, open the Watch app on your paired iPhone, and go General > Software Update. The update should appear to download and install. Note that you need to ensure that your Watch is placed on the charger to start the update. Your iPhone should also be connected to a WiFi net work, and have enough charge to last throughout the update process.
As this is a small update, it only includes bug fixes and other issues. A bigger update is currently in beta testing, which is watchOS 5.1, which did not come with release notes but so far, eagle-eyed developers have found enhancements to some watch faces.

Apple also released tvOS 12.0.1 recently, with bug fixes and stability improvements. It is expected that iOS 12.0.1 will also be released soon.
