Installing tvOS 12.1.2 beta 3
Even though Apple TV betas are safe to install and test, we do not recommend you do so, unless you know how to restore your device to a working state, in case there’s any issue.
To install tvOS 12.1.2 developer beta 3, you must be a registered Apple Developer. The membership costs $99 and requires you to install the developer beta profile using Xcode. The process is the most complicated out of all developer betas Apple releases for its different devices. If you are interested, you can read our guide on how to install tvOS developer beta on your Apple TV.
However, if you are interested, you can also install tvOS 12.1.2 public beta 3. You do not need to register your Apple TV for the public beta. The process is really straight forward and requires you to enable a setting Get Beta Updates from Settings > System > Software Updates > Update Software.
The last major tvOS release was tvOS 12 which included features like zero sign-on, interactive Aerial screensavers, Dolby Atmos support, Password Autofill via iCloud Keychain, and Home Control Systems support. Features like zero sign-on, Siri and TV app are still limited to a few countries only so you might not see all these new features depending on your location.
